Hennepin Tech kicks off 50th anniversary
Brooklyn Park, Aug. 24, 2022 – Founded in 1972, Hennepin Tech is celebrating 50 years of providing exceptional education opportunities for people entering the skilled trades and high-demand careers.
The 50th anniversary celebration began with official proclamations from the State of Minnesota as well as the cities of Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie. In the state and both cities, September 1st was officially proclaimed as “Hennepin Technical College Day” in recognition of the first month of education on campus 50 years ago.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz issued the proclamation on behalf of the state. The document described the college’s significant contribution, including this statement:
“Hennepin Tech’s commitment to its students’ pursuit of career and technical education expands economic opportunity and equity for individuals and communities. This academic year marks the 50th anniversary of Hennepin Tech, an important milestone for this regional asset that has continued to thrive throughout the decades.”
