Crisis Grants

Hennepin Technical College has assistance available for students facing unexpected financial emergencies each academic year. The crisis grants were created to help students stay in college and achieve their educational goals. Grants are made possible through the Hennepin Technical College Foundation. Please note that most funds will be exhausted at the end of the term. These grants cannot take the place of long-term college financing.

Before applying, please read the following information carefully.

Eligibility

  1. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more credits to be eligible.
  2. If approved for funding, payment will be made to the creditor (company to whom money is owed) on the student's behalf, not directly to the student.
  3. Available up to $500 one time per academic year.

Crisis Grants can be used for:

  • Books/Academic Supplies/Tools/Uniforms
  • Housing/Rent/Mortgage
  • Medical/Dental/Health Care
