Hennepin Tech MarCom Team Nominated for Regional Awards of Excellence

Hennepin Tech Marketing and Communications Department (MarCom) has been named finalists by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) for three regional Medallion Awards; categories include Video Short (single), Communications Success Story or Crisis Communications Campaign, and Special Event or Fundraising Campaign. Finalist entries include:

  • Video Short (single) - A Spotlight into the Future of Information Technology (in partnership with Up North Media and AFCOM)
  • Communications Success Story or Crisis Communications Campaign – Year-long coverage of the implementation of the $1M Federal grant for Hennepin Tech’s Law Enforcement, Peace Officer, and Public Safety Program
  • Special Event or Fundraising Campaign – 2024 Plant Sale Promotion

The NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges in each of NCMPR's seven districts. The regional competition is exclusive to marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.

Debra Newgard, Dean of Enrollment Services and department leader reflected on the news of the achievement, “I am honored to be a part of the incredible marketing team at Hennepin Technical College. Their dedication and commitment go above and beyond, and it’s evident every day how much they care about the success of our students and staff.”

Awards winners will be announced at the 2024 NCMPR District 5 Conference held in St. Paul, Minnesota, October 1-3, 2024.
