Practical Nursing and Nursing Assistant Student Successes Celebrated
Eden Prairie & Brooklyn Park, MN, December 23, 2024 – Hennepin Technical College proudly celebrated the achievements of students in its healthcare programs last week. The recent Practical Nursing pinning ceremony on December 18th honored the hard work and dedication of seven graduates who have completed the rigorous two-semester program. These newly minted Practical Nurses are prepared to make an immediate impact in the healthcare field, and Hennepin Technical College’s program offers flexibility with cohorts beginning each spring and fall.
In addition, Hennepin Tech recognized the accomplishments of fifteen students from Brooklyn Center High School who completed their Nursing Assistant & Home Health Aid certification on December 20th. This program is a crucial first step into the world of healthcare, equipping graduates with foundational skills to provide compassionate care. Many students use this course as a stepping stone to pursue advanced healthcare training.
“Our healthcare programs, including the Nursing Assistant certification and Practical Nursing degree, are designed to give students both the skills and confidence they need to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives,” said Cheryl Lassen, Associate Dean of Practical Nursing and Nursing Assistant Programs at Hennepin Tech.
In addition to our nursing specialties, Hennepin Tech is proud to offer additional pathways for students interested in healthcare careers. The Health Science (Broad Field) program provides a strong and affordable foundation for students pursuing transfer opportunities in fields like pre-medicine, physical therapy, and healthcare administration. This degree allows students to explore the education necessary in healthcare specialties while preparing for their next steps.
For students who are looking to add skills to their current healthcare experience, Hennepin Tech’s Customized Training offers affordable continuing education options in fields like Phlebotomy, Dental Radiology, Mental Health First Aid, and Medication Aid.
Hennepin Tech’s healthcare programs open doors for anyone looking to enter or grow within the dynamic healthcare field.
